As much as I loath to lower myself to the level of the kind of faux-emo 'omg no-one understands me an i can't spell or use caps gunna slit my rists and dye now bye' crowd, I must complain about my parents.

Lj cut to save you from teh rantage, although in my angered state I am compelled to point out that this is my LJ and I can be as bloody irrational as I bloody well please )

Actually, I have something else to moan about - if everyone else is a character in the book of my life, why do I feel more like a narrator than a protagonist? Seriously, I don't think I have a soul. )

*sigh* Buggerfuck it, I'm going to bed. I've done the anger thing by putting myself in Dashi's head and writing a venomous fight scene between he and Wuya, now time for sleep.
I implore you, people! Whore your links around! That's what the 'links list' is for! And if your style doesn't support the links list, stick your links in your userinfo!
... works extremely well as psychological revenge. The attacker gets so confused, and lies awake at night wondering just when and in what form you will take your real revenge.

First time I employed this non-violent technique was in third year music, when a girl hit me over the head with a recorder. As soon as she did it, I just smiled at her until my ears stopped ringing, then took the recorder out of her hands. Then I walked away. I swear, she nearly wet herself with fright!

Of course, I was the most feared person in our year at that point - the bully-kids lost their power during second year, and I was known to still be dealing as though I was still fighting them. And it had only been three years since I was in state school. Meh. At least I've grown slightly less infamous since then... Anyway, back to the story.

Cut for OMG exclusion!Wangst )

So my reaction will be feigned nonchalance, and an invitation to my 18th. Y'know, when I get around to actually planning it. ^^; (I'm thinking hiring out the Football Club/Liberal Club/Village Hall + Dad's side of the family + random selection of 6th Formers.)
What is with my bloody preoccupation with Warfic?! I'll go over to [ profile] lower_tadfield, start of with some nice A/C Romefic and before I know it I've been taken through the humorous going-through-History-fic and overshot into one-or-other of the World Wars with their Trenchfic, and then I'll be depressed, and then the bloody Cowboy song with the gunshot in it starts playing and I'm be even more depressed! God!

Crowley (2 parts), and Aziraphale's POV. There's more fic in that universe, but I those were the main culprits. And here, for one of the other soldiers.
Since when was CN+1 non-existant? I mean, sure, with hindsight the 'no furthur scheduling' for that one channel only might have been a clue, but I thought that it was just SkyPlus saying 'duuur, I don't work.' Bloody-bloody. It also means that we've missed todays episode, without the reasurance that we had with ep2 that it was going to replay four days later. It'll be what, 3 weeks? ep6... yeah. A fortnight yesterday. *fumes*

Does anyone else try to record something via the 'Planner' part of SkyPlus, only to find later that it didn't in fact record?

So now, anyway, there is no longer a +1 channel for CN, but there is for Boomerang. Toonami now has the channel number that used to belong to CN+1.

Of course, I really want to be ranting about that pervert Zahra Lamin, but I'll refrain.
Sometimes I wish that people would just read the previous reviews before they click 'send' (or whatever). There were what, six people who've told me to use Master Monk Guan as the Dragon of Fire in 524? Despite the fact that at the beginning there was already a Dragon of Fire, i.e. Master Ko. I mean, that's an obvious name, even if he didn't live long enough to display his powers properly.

Randy still hasn't given me a decent answer as to why I've been banned from his site.

The last time we spoke was after an argument about anti-bushness and hurricane Katrina. Convo here: . This was a little while after I concritted his boring story at ficwad.

He's just like: "OMG ur meen! Ibanu!" - I don't get it!

Someone told me that apparently I'm being blamed for System getting into the site on the 25th of August. *thinks back* I'm not good with dates, but during the hols I was still using that password that I got sent when I became a mod to read the mod-board (the password was 'redappeld' or some such - it got changed a little while ago). Could this intrusion have been myself finding that that pass was no longer valid?

(If someone is going to blow up at me for that, let me just say that one should always change passwords once someone became disqualified from using it. It's human nature to poke things.)

When I went to my invisionfree site and found a note on my chatterbox saying that I'd been ignoring Shallot's emails. Heads up: I haven't received any. Speaking of which, she hasn't replied to that one I sent her...

Here's a Poll - I have no paid LJ account... And here's the text link:

One vote only, even if you're voting in my favour.

Please vote and comment, f-list and anyone else I've pimped this link to. X-posted everwhere. Anonimous comments welcome and encouraged (though sticking your name at the bottom would be great).

Edity Add-on: I give up. Convo at Nationstates:

I'm still wondering when these 'chances' were... And what they were chances to do. And why I never got the memo.

*goes to read the something positive comics*

And another one:

On the "only use english words in english fanfic summaries, don't say yaoi say slash" argument:

English randomly nicks words from other languages all the time. That's part of what it is. Every country that we've conquered visited, we took some words with us when we left. When the French were here, they left half of their volcabulary behind. So did the Romans.

Does anyone call you us for 'fangirl french' when you use the word 'pork'? Hey, 'pig meat' is the original way it was in English! No wait, 'meat' was French too.

How about most of fandom, with the German word 'angst' (Ich habe angst fur... I'm afraid of)? We (or rather, you - I've never seen it used in fandom-comtext before the internet) use it as a tag word akin to 'emo'. How come that doesn't get you blown up at?

Stolen from [ profile] vasaris

True Story. A religion teacher assigned her class an essay on what makes a good Christian. One student wrote about praying nightly, say no to abortion, banning gay marriage, and donating money. The other student wrote about talking to God and allowing people to enjoy their lives, and supporting gay marriage. The day the teacher was to hand the papers back, she called up the second student and told him she would pray for him when he went to hell. The student asked why would he be going to hell, and why he got an F on his paper. The teacher told him that Catholism is against gay marriage. The student looked at her for a minute, then said aloud, "I'm gay." The teacher kicked him out of class as if he had said fuck or worshiped Satan. A girl in the back of class who had a boyfriend and was obviously straight got up and left too.

If you would leave the classroom, repost this. It doesn't matter if you're straight, bi, or gay. It doesn't matter if you're catholic or not. Everyone is a human being and deserves happiness.

Hell yeah! And a bitchslap for that teacher, too.
...For those idiots at - Why do I keep going back there? IDIOTS!

(On 524)

First I get this review: "Please update"

And then this one: "You know TamerTerra, it's been a while so I really think you should

Fine, I'll update with the two paragraphs I have so far. NOT!

That's it. The summarys at the Pit of Voles kill my brain. Even in the Xiaolin Showdown section.

I weep.
Folk keep saying 'If only XS was't a kid's show...' in their reviews to 'The Beginning of Something'. It's not like they do anything...

The following review has been submitted to: Five TwentyFour Chapter: 1

From: Deep Ghose (

This story sucks, just like you you fat sucker. Make better stories in

May I just say: Double-Ewe Tee Eff, Mates?

My reply (as the flamer left a mail address):

Subj: Your 'review' to 524:
Msg: I don't suppose you'd care to enlighten me as to how exactly my story, 524, 'sucks' as you say? I notice that you haven't left a signed review so that your stories are up for comparison.

Without any concrit accompanying your 'review' I have to call 'flame'. And a cowardly flame at that.

No Love, TamerTerra.

*shakes head*

First, allow me to remind you(generic you) of the fact that there are at least three different land-masses that use English as the dominant language, and so it is reasonable to assume that members of any of these countries could be reading your story. Next, allow me to remind you (for surely you already knew) that each of these countries have their own ways of 'numbering' the form/grade/year/whatever of education that everyone is at. England alone has three, for instance (Year 8/2nd Form/Year 2)(Year 6/Prep4). So now, hopefully, you will see why it is utterly useless to refer to schoolchildren as 'High Schoolers', '8th Graders' or 'Preparatory students'. How old is an '8th grader anyway? 8? 10? 12? 16? Why not use a relatively common term, like how many years it has been since they were born? I know that I, when writing, do not refer to 14 year olds as Year 9s or even 3rd Formers - the confusion potential weighs out any aversion you may have to the child's age. (Rant X-posted to fanficrants)

My giddy aunts folks, have you seen this?

Oh, and a quiz:

Mary Sue

Jun. 23rd, 2005 09:45 pm
You know what? I just might write a Mary Sue story, just for the hell of it. Mary Sues aren't nearly as bad as they're made out to be - it's a perfect character that everyone loves/hates, so what? Sue stories can be okay to read. Heck, there are some folk that prefer sue stories. I'm not one of them, but sure.

An OC Mary Sue is better than turning a canon character into a self insert.

So, I can write that Winifred, the true heir of Slytherin, comes to Hogwarts in 6th Form after moving into No.6 Privet Drive, because well, I can if I want to. What's all the big fuss about Sue-ish characters anyway?
You may rememeber that rant I posted about how people refuse to keep Malfoy in character, especially while pairing him with Hermione. Well, I tried it to see, and the result has the ID of 2448017. So, when it arrives on the site, it's URL will be Tell me if I've succeeded, if you will.
