June Thunder
Jun. 28th, 2005 07:58 pmWa, I didn't realise how much I rely on the Internet until our electricity cut out this morning (meaning that my cpu had to run scandisk before it would work now -_-;;).
I also realised just how loud thunder is! I was sitting by the half-gate door (the lightest place in the house with the top open) while the rain came down, and when I stuck my head out to see the lightning (not as daft as it sounds, we're in a vally), the sprites (would you believe that that's an actual scientific term?) went right above me in the clouds and the thunder was right overhead.
I can see why the Old Folks thought it was a big man in the clouds, yelling at them. I half believed it myself.

Date: 2005-06-29 01:55 pm (UTC)We do have very large lightning rods on top of the houses, but the lightning obviously didn't like any of them that day.
