I just watched an episode of Natuto yesterday - and I have to say, it looks like utter crap. The main character's voice is high-pitched and annoying (honestly, the lead in Mermaid Melody has a lower voice than he does), and the archtypes of the three are like Digimon Frontier (Takuya, Kouji and a competent version of Izumi, at least).

[livejournal.com profile] xxicenickyxx tells me that that was the worse episode she's seen so far, so maybe I'll give it another chance tomorrow. I'm not getting my hopes up, though.

ETA: After 'tomorrow's ep, I have to say: "MAKE THE INFODUMPING STOP!"

We had a songwriters meet in the Folk Festival, and I sang a couple of verses of a song I'd banged out that morning. Of course, there's probably only this one story that I have to sing about...

I once held a love
For a girl I thought I knew
She was everything to me
Sweet, strong and kind (if not constant).

But she turned me away
With Hateful things she said
Bidden by her religion;
A simple 'no' would have been enough.

So, um. I forgot the tune, so I made it up as I went. Started in the wrong key, as one is wont to do under those circumstances - but there we have it. My first time singing something partially improvised to a crowd (not really audience - too informal to be called an audience), and I got a clap of sorts. Too busy trying to slap myself into realising what I'd done to pay much mind. XD

Just finished Volume 10 of Battle Royale - ZOMG the lighthouse scene! And Yuki's parents! And how she woke up before committing suicide by remembering her father's hand...

*cries* This morning, I got a splinter under my nail. Fainted when the First Aider poked around and got it out, but was fine by the time it was my Driving Lesson (went around Westward Ho! Appledore, Northam and Abbotsham).

However. Do you knw which nail it was? The middle finger on my write. Aye dot Ee dot, the finger that I guide the pen with when I write. Also, the finger that I two-finger-gab with when typing. And the scabbing makes it painful to touch.

So I'm jabbing with my index and ring, and writing with my middle at the side with the ring instead of with my index. And it's uncomfortable, but at least the jacuzzi scene is getting writen. *g*

Also, I made a post in [livejournal.com profile] xiaolin_yuri about a new mailing list/Y! Group - Xiaolin Showdown Femmeslash and Femgen. In case anyone was interested in either or both. Its URL/name is (OMG surprise) xiaolin_yuri , if you want to search it or visit the link in the post.

Hate to sound like some stereotypical otaku or something, but if you're watching the dubs, don't even bother. The Naruto dubs are all kind of horrible (like you said, the voices are painful to the ears, they cut out a lot of things, and they cant even pronounce the words and names right...). You're much better off reading the manga or watching subs.

Eh. But I'm not a Naruto fan.

I firmly believe that if America is going to dub anything, it should do it fully. The 'Leave the Japanese in because OMG!Ninjas!!!' thing? Not fun. At all.

*waits for manga*

Actually, since this conversation, I bought the Naruto DVD, and it has the uncut version, both in English and in Japanese with English subtitles. The dub's better than the English subtitles because it keeps the Japanese terms intact. The subs translate them, but it's not the same. It's not quite right.

Anyway, I take it back. The dub's actually quite good. Not perfect, but much better than some other dubs. *shudders at the thought of One Piece* Jetix just edits the hell out of it. On the DVD, without any cuts, it's very different.

And, on the flip side of the coin, many Japanese anime and video games incorporate English words and phrases into their sentences, where they could easily have said it in Japanese. In the Japanese version of an ep of Naruto, Naruto says, "Thank you!" in English. And Jap!YGO is chock full of English words (the names of cards and monsters and whatnot). I guess it's supposed to sound "cooler" when certain things are said in a different language.

(Tch. That post ended up being longer than I'd wanted...)

What [livejournal.com profile] inast8jacket said. You're wasting your time watching the Naruto dub. It's crap and not really a good reflection of the original story. The subs and manga are far superior. I wouldn't have gotten into Naruto by watching the dub alone.

If I do get into it, it'll be when we get the manga, I think.

Manga makes crappy shonen dubs good. XD

What my sis said. Try and download the Jap version before you decide anything. Trust me, I'm the biggest Naruto fan you'll find, and I won't even watch the english dub, unless it's to laugh at it and point out all the stuff they left out. Try watch a few jap episodes or, read the manga before you pass judegement. Because to be honest, if I startes watching Naruto as the english dub I wouldn't have a clue of what was going on because they just left too much stuff out.

4kids killed One Piece. They killed Naruto too.

The number of second homes bought in the US has increased over 100% in the last 5 years. According to National Association of Realtors, there were 405,000 second homes reported in the year 2000 and buy 2005, there were at least 881,000, second homes reported. According. The second home boom was driven by record low interest rates, and expanded guidelines for second mortgages. The refinance boom coincided with the real estate boom. Investment opportunities sprouted across the country, as first time homeownership grew to an all-time high.

Ultimately, it makes good financial sense to let your real estate investment work for you, and a second mortgage can be a great way to take full advantage of the equity in your home.

Hello,
Also let them know if you have been turned down for other loans and also if you have been awarded any County Court Judgment in any case.
Since the debt consolidation loans form a part of home loan they are offered at low interest rates.
If you cannot achieve results on your own, then you may need to hire a credit repair lawyer to help you.

Holla,
Due to the fast growth of credit card users, the concerned companies compete with each other through the employment of various marketing strategies.
It is wrong to be ashamed of or by the suicidal death of a family member or friend.
If the statute of limitations has expired they have very little recourse and you have a lot to lose by negotiating repayment.
