Find your Celestial Choir

As an aside, can anyone remember the missing sin? I've got Lust, Wrath, Envy, Greed, Sloth, Pride... What's the other one?

I just finished reading 'The Lucifer Code' (Last week's bestseller list). It's good. Though it kinda annoyed me that Amber was preggers at the end, but that wasn't important. It was really fun to try to work out what Soames' agenda was. ^_^

Yes, well, all sin comes from a single source, so of course you can't have on sin without falling a little into another. But you're thinking in terms restricted to a few simple acts. Lust doesn't only have to do with sex, and abstinence doesn't just mean not having sex - you can abstain from anything, like from smoking or from eating meat for Lent.

The oppsite of "lust" is "boldness" but it means "embracing of moral wholesomeness and achieving purity of thought through education and betterment." So the sin of lust isn't specifically wanting to have sex with every man/boy/fencepost in town (and half the women/girls/punchbowls too) but it's impurity of thoughts.

Sin Virtue
Lust Chastity (courage, boldness, purity)
Avarice/Greed Liberality (nobility, willingness to give)
Gluttony Abstinence (self control, moderation, consideration)
Sloth Diligence (ethics, being industrious, zealous)
Wrath Patience (/Peace, forebearance, endurance)
Envy Kindness (satisfaction, charity, compassion, friendship)
Pride Humility (modesty, selflessness, respect)

So that's what Diligence means!

Gah, I'm still seeing Lust and Gluttony as being the same... Maybe it'll make more sense in the morning...

Heh heh heh...

Well, this list is in order of, um... sanctity? By which I mean importance basically. Lust is at the top, and gluttony is below it by a bit. Lust has to do with your thoughts, and gluttony has to do with your actions and choices. Controlling lust, obviously, is more important because our actions and words tend to spring from our thoughts.

Does that help?

Yes. Thoughts vs Actions. I get it!
