tj_roweSeeing the advert on TV, I've realised that I want to watch it for Tonks, Bella, Luna, and Riddle-in-a-suit. I don't give a fig about the rest of it. XDDD
Also, I have really bizarre plotbunnies for scenes in which (Lily-lives!AU) CoS happens, but Lily is DADA teacher instead of Lockhart, and is also a Parselmouth (because I like to think that the powers Harry supposedly gets from LV are actually from his ever-underestimated mum). As she is a super-accomplished witch, she spontaneously invents a spell which leads to both Tom and Ginny living, but Tom getting de-aged to eleven and most of Ginny's first-year memories getting 'used up'. And then she adopts him.
Anyway, that's the scenario. The plotbunny is that, upon the eventual confrontation, LV accuses Lily of being an archetype - but then there's a little contemplation of if she's Wendy, LV must be Peter Pan, the boy who never grows old. But then he's corrected - PP never grows up, not old. XDve
This is amusing me a lot. Actually, the whole AU is. *likes AUs* Ginny redoing first-year and Tom restarting Hogwarts with a mum are nice together, as is Molly Weasley's Not Approving of her daughter's close friendship with a Slytherin. XD (Although, it's the survival of that Slytherin that leads to Ginny's implication in the Plot, and that in turn leads to the failure of Arthur's Muggle Protection Act, so... not unjustified. But Molly doesn't know that reason, just the House one, so...)
Oh, and Harry being in Slytherin (because the circumstances that led to him being in Gryffindor were wildly improbable in the first place) and his rivalry with Malfoy being rather more friendly than in canon, somehow led to Tom and Malfoy acquiring a little in-joke where they refer to each other as 'Black' and 'Riddle' rather than 'Malfoy' and 'Potter'. I have no idea how it happened, but it's cute. ^_^
Lily's being a Parselmouth chucks up a bit more backstory up with regard to the 'why did LV give her a choice' question. I hypothesis that, for this AU, it was maddening for him not to know how a muggleborn possessed such a power that was distinctive of Slytherin's line, and that leading to some sort of... dialogue? And perhaps Lily trying to exploit that dialogue in order to save her son? (Or, perhaps doing some kind of DADA-teaching-curse style thing when saying 'if you attack my son, you will die'?)
...Someone will flame me for implying that Lily Evans is capable of threatening someone, even the Dark Lord, but feh. This is a girl who's friends with Slytherins, don't forget.
Ooh, and if I tie in my favourite 'Regulus Black got CoS'd by the locket' plot-thread...

Hm, what do we know about Book Seven so far? The last word is 'scar', according to a JKR-interview, the Doctor cried when he read it, and the prophesy what was broken in the DoM has something to do with something. Oh, and it's supposed to be like a second half to HBP. Anything else?
