In other words, the technician came over and fixed my desktop. So I have permanent-if-limited access to the net. Yay!

The Hard Drive is out, and our technician is going to plug it into something to see how broken it is. (You can tell I'm not a... kind of person that would know what to call the kind of person I'm not, can't you?). And he's taken away the rest of it to salvage - from the outside it looks okay, bar the popped off DVD-drive-lid and shot monitor.

Now, as the majority of my music was lost (but can hopefully be retreived from the LHD), I've had a binge - in Exeter (nearest city) and Barnstaple (nearest large town, famous for the worst traffic jams (in England but outside of London)).
  • Keane - Under The Iron Sea
  • Keane - Live Recordings 2004
  • Rammstein - Rosenrot
  • Rammstein - Mutter
  • Rammstein - Reise, Reise
  • Trivium - Ascendancy
  • Atreyu - A Death Grip On Yesterday
  • 36 Crazyfists - Rest Inside The Flames

And then Funeral for a Friend - Hours was on 2 for a Tenner and so was a random Iron Maiden CD, so I picked them up too.

Them buggers of music channels - why do they only play tracks which aren't out yet? It's a bad game if you see something, then go shopping and can't actually get it. Buggers, they is.

I've just organised those CDs, along with a few more (my old Evanescence CD looks well weird next to these and my Dixie Chicks collection. XD) ready to drag into school. If the remaining Upper Sixth (my year, now) team up music-wise, I think that we can keep control of the sound system from the new Lower Sixth. Oh, but there is a small proportion of U6 who are into chav-music (aka rap and hiphop), so that complicates matters.

*facepalm* What do I sound like, honestly?

If anyone wants any of those tracks, tell me and I'll upload them.

The website is coming along - just about everything has been transferred into the CSS file and taken out of the HTML, and it works in FireFox and IE. Opera's the next one we try it in.

Except, we no longer have a design guy (he got frightened off, apparently), and I'm back at college tomorrow. And Rick's like, "What?" when it comes to coding - he's used to WYSIWYG programs (which I get lost with, generally. I'm trying out Dreamweaver, though - but that doesn't want to import my CSS, which is annoying).

It looks like my best bet might be to start the third language early - it's doubtful that they'll let me take AS German, even with the SOCRATES students that we have in that might need it for their Abitur.

So it's decided: I'm signing up for GCSE Spanish. Even if I don't take the exam, I can start to pick up the basics enough to work on it by myself or at Uni. And it works as an after-school club, so unless the new Director of Studies is as daft about 6th Form lessons as the old on, I'll be able to attend.

Maybe.

If nothing else, it would no, will show 'determination' on my Personal Statement. *sigh*

We have about eight students from Germany this year, so there is still a chance - just not a big one.

I know for sure that there are two other U6 who would do Spanish though, so that one is a bit more certain. ^_^
