Fifth Driving Lesson!
Jul. 31st, 2006 12:05 amSo we did the 'practise going into second' thing, and reverse/forward parked for a bit. And then came the bright idea to bugger off to the other side of the industrial estate.
Now, my mother has this habit of yelling prematurely at hazards. Not only does this distract the person behind the wheel (i.e. ME) by giving them a heart attack, it also makes said person-behind-the-wheel panic and stall the car - especially when said person is in the middle of a manoeuvre and suddenly has conflicting instructions.
And there was this random bit of cobbling across the road at one point, too. Which did not help my nerves any.
It was a straight road - turned out of Devonshire Pine, went past RGB up to the Dimond Interiors turning, used the Lay-by to do a three-point turn, went back to DP and parked in the middle carpark. Then repeated the exercise.
Gah, I can say that I was very happy to be back in the bottom carpark again parking up when I was.
My first real driving lesson is on Friday, with a Mr. Young. He's our next-door neighbor-bar-one.
