I have the process memorised now, I think:
- Close Door
- Put on Seatbelt
- Check Mirrors
- Wiggle Gearstick to Make Sure That it is In Neutral
- Switch on Engine by turning key toward the dashboard
- Press down Clutch all the way, put into 1st
- Press down on accelerator just a smidge, release clutch until 'biting point' is reached
- Take handbrake off (down)
- Begin to move. Try to hide that you are freaking out about the fact that you are moving, and let go of the rest of the clutch slowly.
- Do various manouvres
- Stop doing manouvres when you realise that you are about to hit a) a road or b)something solid. Stop Panicing.
- Press down on Brake and Clutch at the same time (clutch goes faster because it has furthur to go) and prepare to be thrown forward.
- Be caught by Seatbelt.
- Put handbrake on (up), let go of brake.
- Put back into neutral.
- Let go of clutch.
- Grin in relief.
- Turn key back toward you to switch off engine.
The first time, I stalled it when I was releasing the clutch too fast; the second I started moving and then rammed on the brake as fast as I could; the third time I went through and stopped... but then took my feet off the pedals without going back to neutral and stalled it.
After that it went quite well - my braking still needs practice, but by the end I was going through the process correctly and going around an island in the middle of the carpark. It shouldn't be too long until I'm on my side of the road and judging distances - that just needs a bit of repitition until I have how far I need to turn the steering wheel in my motor (ha!) program.
And afterwards we went to Blights and I had a Kinder Bueno because Bloody Hell Was That Nerve Racking. And petrol.
The Review: Are you going to have Omi/Kimiko pairing? It'd be cool if you did! update soon!
My thoughts: How rude are you, asking for pairings but not saying anything about the story?! On the other hand... s/he did read it. And *checks* Of the three reviews that I have for arch4 so far, one is from a coherent person that I like. Maybe this person is coherent and likeable too?
My Reply: Omiko, huh. You know, I hadn't considered that, but it may just fit...
Afterthoughts: Well, it might. I don't actually have anything against it, either (though I'll probably angle more for KimiClay as they're, you know, the only ones still at the temple. O_o
And anyway, a real OTPer can see shipping in anything *remembers being an R/BB 'shipper in Teen Titans fandom*
