I think yuri isn't as popular, or perhaps as well-known as other kinds of fic. It's rare to find XS yuri on the Pit, for example, so maybe your expectations are too high? (Someone else here has said it better, I think, but I'm afraid to move screens lest my 'Net connection dies.)
I haven't read the fic in question. I must have missed the update/upload, somewhere along the line, if you put it up on ffnet. But - personally, if I'm being honest, I'm less inclined to read yuri. I'm not quite sure why.
Actually, I'm less inclined to read most pairings, since I don't really like romance fiction in general, but I do end up finding some fics I like. I'm a bit picky like that. I don't think I'd ever write a pairings fic myself, though. Not my style.
