In 9 hours and 34 minutes...
May. 20th, 2006 01:54 pmI shall be seventeen.
I make the distinction between 'after half past eleven PM' and 'before half past eleven PM' instead of just saying 'today' because I was born just three hours after the sun moved from Taurus to Gemini. Yes, I'm one of those silly buggers who believe in horoscopes.
It's actually a point of contention for me - until I was about 11, I had been told that 'Taurus is 21 April-21 May, Gemini is 22 May-23 June, so you're a Taurus'.
It never really felt right. I didn't think that I displayed typical strong Taurus characteristics like my Dad and sister at all, and horoscopes were always wrong. It was only after doing some research with books and star charts that I discovered that the changeover happens during the day, and in 1989 had been on the evening of the 20th - three hours before I was born.
I.D.ing as a Gemini, or cusp-Gemini instead of Taurus felt much better - even the silly newspaper horoscopes worked better through the Gemini grid (except for late February, but I assume that that's just my cuspiness). Yet I still had people telling me 'Oh, don't be silly - you're a Taurus.' It was infuriating. Even last Christmas my sister bought me a daily horoscope guide - for Taurus. I suspect that she just wanted it for herself.
Ugh... Now I've gone all negative. Bugger. Betterly, I now have a mike for my computer. I've already sung 'O Waily Waily' (the piece that I sung for my GCSE music performance). Now I'm onto the Andrew Lloyd Webber choir sheets. XD
( Aw, look at the chain letter I got. )
And oh yeah - even though I'm only just legal, and haven't got my learner's permit yet, I apparenly already have a company car. O_o
