(If you're using Firefox, I'd use Page Style: No Style to read it. The font and stuff that the site uses make me squinty, but YMMV)
Oh My God. If you are into Good Omens fanfic in the slightest, go and read The Greatest Of These by Vivien. We start with a third-coming Earth with celestial war. Then come the tearful goodbyes - I should mention that the Crowley/Aziraphale factor is a strong theme and plot device here - and near misses, and post-escape we have a eutopia of sorts. And the intigrated scripture fit right in.
I for one can say that it left me with a tremendous sense of all being right. Fluff for the soul, if you will. Because that really is THE WHOLE POINT!
... Now I'm drifting off into lines of thought that only make sense to read if you've read the fic, so I shan't spoiler you further. Let's chat about it in the comments to this, though.
And bear in mind that I have only ever recced three fics properly like this. Srsly. I haven't had a fic-derived high like this since Teenage Kicks.
