"Well, that's mightly flattering..." Clay started, the impending 'but' hovering on his tongue without walling. 'But' what, exactly? It was a formulaeic response, almost word for word what he had said to one of his sister's friends then she had informed him that he was taking her to a fête. He dithered, hoping that Raimundo would hurry up and interupt, or that one of the others would wake up to the same effect.

Chase's body was very warm, Raimundo noticed, even as the evil warrior snarled in his face. That, or the cave was colder than he had realised.
"No escaping," he hissed.

Jack didn't quite know what to do about that, and so left his arms by his side. "You started it," he said, which was true.

Surprised, the intruder stopped shivering for a moment. "Something like that," he mumbled, surprising Jack right back.

Raimundo's mouth looked like it was trying to form words as its owner stared after the loudmouthed girl, but it didn't seem to be able to manage.
"You got pulled, whatever that means," Jack told him needlessly.
Still looking very confused, Raimundo replied, "So did you, apparently."

"What're you doin' out here, Jesse?" Clay asked, rubbing sleep from his eyes. "It's late and..." he trailed off when he saw the other girl. "You!" he barked.

Okay, here's the deal," Raimundo said, cutting Kimiko off as soon as Clay had closed the door. "I'll use 'he', you use 'she', and we can both stop saying 'they' when it's only one person, okay?"
Kimiko's mouth was suddenly dry; she took a sip of her water. "I don't know what you're talking about," she said cooly.

"Pile in!" James called good naturedly, and slid closer to Lily. The loud boy shifted toward the door so that the only available space on his side was between him and 'Snapey'. This struck Lily as unnecessarily mean, but before she had a chance to say anything the introductions began again.




... I just spent the past few hours going through some of my old notebooks for these. XD

Sadly, I can't find any of the rest of 524 - I was writing directly onto the computer that commited suicide. It's still a WiP, though.

ETA: The new fic at raibicycle is hilarious. And this is from someone who doesn't tend to like fluff. XD

EATA: Does anyone else have a writely account? It's still in beta at the moment, but it looks like it has the potential to be good for things like betaing and co-editing.
