Course-changing greif
Fucking Hell, I think that I'm going to cry.
I've just been doing all this looking up of Unis, and seeing what was needed. For computing you need Maths. Advanced Level Maths. Why did I do no research before picking my options, honestly? Biology and Chemistry I'm fine with, and Physics is tricky (but that was expected) but PE, with the course that we've switched to, is worthless. Absolutely WORTHLESS.
Our PE lessons also take place in the same lesson block as Maths. If it wasn't so late on, I might switch over, but... There would be so much to catch up on. Would it be possible? I don't know. We haven't done anything in PE yet, due to the change in course, so maybe... Lottie tells me that the Maths is hard, very hard. I'll ask her which course she's doing, and then take a looksee.
*runs away and comes back*
Edexcel, and they've done 'C1'. Now to research that.
*runs away again, and come back still very distressed*
I'll need to talk to the biology teacher. I mean, PE is a coursework course. I'm not good at coursework. I can do exams, but damnit! so much work to catch up on if I swap.
Though really, I need to work out in my head if I could do the work and catch up, or if it is too late. I mean, Merry is doing Furthur Maths, which has the A Maths as its first year and the F Maths as the second year, instead of the A taking two years, so maybe I can do the first year in half a year? And Merry's doing 5 courses, as far as I'm aware. Then again, she's also a genius. Then again again, I am also quite bright, if not an A* student. I'm a comfortable A/B student, and PE is a damn waste of time and Matths is needed and I'm getting all incoherent blah blah blah blah blah blah. Blah.
*sobs*
Okay, according to Mr. A, the Pure Maths and Statistics teacher, if I work hard then I'd be able to catch up. According to Lottie, I'm effing crazy to even consider it.
I took a look at Lottie's textbook, and it's all crazy numbers. The first few chapters, which implies the 'easy stuff', is the very top end of the GCSE level stuff. I got an A at GCSE in Maths, which means that I just about got the top stuff, but not totally. However, if I put the work in, and totally drop PE, it should be fine.
At GCSE, I cruised through the courses with very little effort, and got As in Chem, Physics and PE, with a B in Biology. However, the AS stuff with PE, like the AS stuff with Maths, is a whole level up and I haven't done anything in either course, so...
Phedy and Deakes look to be backing out of the new OCR National Diploma Level Three course too. They want to do the AS instead. I did say that we haven't covered the stuff ready for the AS either, and we all seem to be stuck between a rock an a hard place.
Seeing the text book, it all looks to be well explained, and there's always the Maths clinic to take advantage of, so I should be able to get by.
